Course Description:
This Intensive Turkish Course (A1) is specially designed for the academic staff of the International Balkan University, aiming to build a foundational understanding of Turkish for professional and personal use. Over the span of 6 weeks, participants will develop essential language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, tailored to help staff engage effectively in everyday communication within and outside the university environment.
The program emphasizes practical application and integrates participants into IBU’s high-quality educational ecosystem. Utilizing state-of-the-art resources, participants will experience university-quality language education with a focus on building fluency and confidence. At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their proficiency at the A1 level in Turkish.
Modules Overview:
Module 1: Introduction to Basic Turkish
Duration: Week 1

• Turkish alphabet and pronunciation
• Basic greetings and introductions
• Numbers, days, months, and seasons
• Simple sentence structure: subject-verb-object
Activities: Pronunciation practice, basic conversations, and vocabulary building
Module 2: Essential Grammar and Vocabulary

• Introduction to nouns, pronouns, and articles
• Common verbs in the Present Tense
• Everyday vocabulary: professional settings, basic social interactions

Certification:
Upon completion, IBU Academic Staff will receive an A1 Turkish Language Certificate, showcasing their proficiency and ability to communicate effectively in basic Turkish, especially within the academic and professional environment.
